Step-by-Step Route from Bufo

Follow these six steps to reach Pollywog without getting lost.

  • 1) Start at BUFO, warm up, exit south‑west, then hug shoreline south until the terrain hard‑stops.
  • 2) Slide slightly west to a stone boulder cluster; break it and step south into the next screen.
  • 3) Move south through a tall grass band, then angle down‑right toward a hollow log.
  • 4) The log’s exit is granite‑blocked—use the Granite Pickaxe, then crawl through.
  • 5) Stay low/right, threading broken log tunnels (right → down → right). A Wood Beetle patrols—sneak or bonk.
  • 6) Push south through another grass band, then curve left into a tiny clearing with a lit campfire—Pollywog sits here. Interact to finish the find.

Return & Reward

Warm at the campfire, then reverse the route: broken logs → hollow log (now open) → grass band → stone gate → shoreline north → BUFO. Report to Bufo to close the storyline and unlock his final pickaxe upgrade recipe.

FAQ

Where is Pollywog exactly?

2–3 areas south of Bufo: go southwest then straight south along the lake, break a stone barrier, head south through grass, clear a granite-blocked hollow log, zigzag broken logs, then reach the campfire clearing.

I hit an ice lake going south—what now?

Stay on land and follow the shoreline south; when terrain blocks you, turn west and break the stone boulders to continue.

Can I go without the Granite Pickaxe?

No. A granite-blocked log tunnel hard-gates the path. Craft the Granite Pickaxe first.

How do I handle the broken log tunnels?

Follow openings in a zigzag: right along the bottom, down through a log, then right again into the clearing.

Do I need to fight the beetle?

Optional. Sneak around it or defeat it; one beetle is manageable.

How do I get back quickly?

Reverse the route—obstacles stay cleared. Warm at Pollywog’s fire, then backtrack north.

Pollywog talked, but Bufo didn’t update?

Ensure dialogue finished and log updated; if not, talk again or save/reload, then speak to Bufo.

What’s the reward?

Bufo’s storyline advances and your pickaxe upgrades finalize, plus the narrative closure of reuniting Bufo and Pollywog.
